London 1344

the Vampire had a slash across his cheak, and a stabwound in the chest, the hunter had obviously tried to take him down, but failed. the sunlight crept closer, touching the vampire's skin, but there was no burning, no reducing to a pile of ash, nothing. it was as if he was human.

the stabwound was about the size of a stake of wood, but was healing rapidly, the hunter had missed the heart completely, so there was no apparent danger to his "life", there were splashes of Black blood surrounding the wolf and leading to where the other creature slept.

the Vampire had gone into a slight catitonic state, atleast untill his meal left his digestive track and into his own blood stream, so for now, he slept.

She stood up again, slowly limping over to the mouth of the cave. The cave stood on the mountain side over looking the forest. She sniffed the air and looked around, looking for a safe passage down. She slowly moved down the edge of the mountain, careful not to lose her footing.

The Vampire Jumped awake, the wounds healing instantaniously as he did. "D..Damn...that is the last time I stick my neck out for a wolf..unless she's a lady.." The vampire laughed to himself before standing up and looking around the cave

"Shit...well..she wont make it far..the only way down is blocked..to grounded beings anyway..although..this mountain is dangerous..especialy to wounded animals.."

The Vampire stood there, debating with himself before his chivilric nature caused him to leap out of the cave and head down the trail, slightly hovering off of the ground.

She stopped at the blockage of the entrance, fallen trees. She nudged a few branches with her muzzle and squeezed underneath, heading back down the path. Her ears perked and listening for any kind of sound. She began to make her leg push further when she heard whimpers growing stronger. Three little balls of black fur lay bunched together in the middle of the clearing. One small white tried to walk, its eyes barely open and it continued to fall sideways. She picked up the pup by the nape of its neck and gently placed it with the other three as she laid beside them, with them between her front legs protectively.

"hello...Whats this?" The vampire hovered over a tree branch, watching the wolf

"Well well..would you look at that..she's a mother..now I cant kill her...heh as if I could before..She is a Lady after all.."
The Boy dropped to the ground and slowly approched the wolf and the pups.

"Easy...You remember me dont you?" The Vampire stepped into the sunlight, again nothing happening.

"Im Hiro..and I wont hurt you..I promise.."

She growled slightly looking up at him. She looked at the ground in front of her and then with her claw wrote in the dirt, "Haruhi". One of her pups whimpered and she licked its head as the four of them climbed on her. Her once mean and scornful expression softened as she looked down at them, the white one with a black streak across its face and the three black ones just completely black. She looked towards the burrow before standing up and nudged them gently back in. She looked back at Hiro and them walked into the bushes before coming back out in her human form. She still didn't say anything she just stood in front of the den protectively as the whimpers of the pups began to fade as they slowly fell asleep.

The Vampire was flabbergasted at her beauty. all his life he was told that all wolves, regardless of Gender, were disgusting, Hidious creatures who were covered in matted locks of fur, no matter what form they were in. Now he knew they were just fairy tails that the adults told younglings so they would sleep when the sun rose. he stood there, trying not to stare at her, he knew that was rude. Hiro looked at the ground and read the name

"Haruhi..Thats an interesting name..Its a pleasure to meet you miss Haru..is it alright if I call you that?"

Hiro stood up and gave a polite bow, he figured a proper introduction was in order

Haruhi looked at him oddly, but nodded her head politely. She had met many vampires in her life, but this was a first for one to be polite to her. "You can call me Haru, if you want," She shrugged. Her voice was quiet and she knelt down in front of the den, shushing a pup that was whining. "Why'd you save me?" she asked, as she stood back up looking down into the burrow. Her bangs hung over her sapphire eyes when she looked back at him.

"Well, It would be against my nature as a Gentleman." The vampire laughed slightly. Hiro was an odd being, A vampire with a chivalric nature, where most vampires would rather slink in and out of sight, their only reason for existing being to feed.

"I'm a little different from Most vampires.." the boy looked up at the sun, his hand over his eyes to shield most of the light.
"As you can probably tell..I'm standing here, in broad sunlight, and not bursting into a pile of Ashes.."

Haruhi nodded. "You're of royal blood," she said coyly and smirked. "I have done my research on vampires." She shifted slightly, occassionally looking down at the burrow. "Royals skin does not burn in sunlight."

"As to how I became this way I have no idea..there are no records of my birth, I have no family..My village was burnt to the ground centuries ago..due to a battle caused by Lycans and humans..a battle that took my parents..and yet somehow I bare no ill will for wolves.." Hiro sat adjacent from Haru

"Are those your children? I have to say their beautiful pups."

Haru sat by the mouth of the entrance and nodded. "Yes they are," she said. "Their father left me before they were even born. Honestly, I don't care either." She said watching one of the black ones stumble out. She watched as the small male sniffed the air, his eyes partially opened. He knew she was there but didn't recognize her. "They won't get their human form for a while, so they don't know me yet in this form."

"Wow..to think, someone as young as you are is a mother...Not that I'm saying your a bad mother..I mean you..I..I think I should just stop talking, I don't wish for you to take my ramblings as an insult when I do not mean them to be.."

Hiro watched the little black pup, at this age they were cute, not the vicious killing machines he had to take down before. he didn't even start anything, just merely had been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Say, I have a question...why is it that Vampires and Lycans are such bitter enemies?"

Haruhi laughed a bit. "I'm not as young as I look," she said and kept her eyes on the pup. "Lycans and vampires never got along. Vampires think of my kind as savages, we kill and eat anything; which isn't true. But the legend goes..." She stopped to turn the pup facing back towards the burrow. "That Vampires accuse us of killing their first elder, or known first vampire, their Prince, Viktor but not us killing him, our Prince, Gabriel is the one who killed him. We were never there for the fight and neither were the council vampires." She sat down again. "However, I've heard from elders that Gabrial killed Viktor because Viktor was threatening his home.. Where as vampire elders say that Viktor took Gabriel for an intruder. No one knows the true story, no one was there." She looked around the forest. "Have you noticed how red the bark of the trees are?" She asked looking at him.

The vampire looked closely at the bark on the tree he was resting against, sure enough there was a brilliant red within the bark

"yeah, Its strange isnt it..I've never actually taken the time to absorb my surroundings..Its alittle odd..yet peaceful.."

He looked back at the lycan, laughing slightly as another pup tried to come out of the burrow

Haruhi stood up, taking off her trench coat and all she wore was a white tank top and a pair of black jeans that were tucked neatly into her almost knee high boots. She lay the trench coat in front of the burrow and adjusted the four pups so they were laying on it. It beared her scent so they settled into it, their eyes partially opened. She looked at Hiro, "You think I'm an ignorant savage and you've been so many places that I guess it must be so.." She said quietly. "But still I cannot see if the savage one is me. How can there be so much that you don't know? You don't know...." She walked down the trees. "You think you own whatever land you land on. The earth is just a dead thing you can claim," She knelt down watching a squirrel. "But I know every rock and tree and creature, has a life, has a spirit.. has a name..."

Hiro remained silent, watching her movements. it was interesting, watching a lycan who wasnt trying to tear him to shreds.

Even as Haruhi moved, the pups heads followed her, knowing her voice even as human. She stood up again and looked at Hiro. "You think the only people who are people, are the people who look and think like you," She walked towards him, her blue eyes looking up as the trees seem to part in the sunlight. "But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew," she stopped when she was just inches from him. "Never knew.."

A light pink flush came across Hiro's face as she was now closer to him then anyone had been before, aside from his victims and meals.

'o..oh..wow...she's really cute..nay Beautiful....I cant believe she's a wolf...maybe there is sense in her words..just..maybe...'

Haruhi looked at the moon that was faintly seen in the blue sky. "Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon?" She held her hands at her sides. "Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain?" She jumped onto a rock as the wind blew against her face and she looked at him. "Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?" She looked as her pups fell asleep. She smiled, running off into the forest; knowing he'd follow.

"h-hey! wait up!" hiro effortlessly caught up with the lycan, running instead of flying for a change

Haruhi ducked through the trees, knowing he was right behind her. "Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest," she said as her hands touched the leaves of the trees and she stopped before a bush with blue and red berries on it. "Come taste the sunsweet berries of the Earth," She turned facing him as she leaned over what looked like a cliff, but was really hill, grabbing his wrist as she did. "Come roll in all the riches all around you, and for once never wonder what its worth."

"Y-Your not thinking of Jumping are you!?" Hiro looked at her and smiled, if it really was a cliff she would have no choice to cling to him. he was honestly fine with that, in the short time he had know her, he had slightly warmed up to the wolf already. he knew it wasnt a mistake now to save her from the hunter. it had cost him a meal so he was starving, but it was worth it, for the first time in 200 years he was having fun.

When they came to the bottom, she smiled and looked at the river that flowed in front of them. She stood up looking to the sky again. "The rainstorm and the river are my brothers.." she said. A otter poked its head from the water. "The heron and the otter are my friends.." She crossed the river, stepping lightly on stones that went across it. "We are all connected to each other. In a circle, in a hoope that never ends." Standing before a tall tree, she watched as a bird flew to the top. "How high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know.." A small howl escaped her lips as she looked at the faint moon again. "And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon.." Haruhi walked to the edge of the forest, standing on the edge of a cliff looking down at the town they had come from. She looked at Hiro. "For whether we're white, or copper skinned.. We need to sing with all the voices of the mountain.. We need to paint with all the colors of the wind.." The wind blue her black hair across her face.

Hiro couldent help but to crack a smile, sitting down on the edge of the cliff, the sun was setting already, or close to it atleast, they had spent a good amount of hours in the forest, he looked out into the orange tinted sky

"You know..I think I kinda get it.." The vampire laughed, looking down at the town

"Too bad humans cant. what with their constant progress.."
